About the NNBA
The
Northern Nevada Bluegrass Association is dedicated to
promoting and preserving bluegrass, old-time, traditional
and related folk music - acoustic music from a common
American heritage - in the Northern Nevada area.
The
NNBA conducts a variety of activities for its members
and the general public, including but not limited to:
hosting informal potluck dinners to encourage musicians
to play together; publishing an informational and educational
newsletter; sponsoring and conducting related workshops,
jams, special presentations and educational sessions;
and sponsoring and conducting the Annual Bowers Mansion
Bluegrass Festival.
A
large number of NNBA members volunteer many hours of
their time throughout the year for various fund-raising
events that support other non-profit organizations,
City and County Parks and Recreation Departments, retirement
communities, and assisted living facilities.
